Body types.... what are they and why do they matter?
There are 3 main ones.
Ectomorph - usually tall/long limbs and thin. Narrow hips and collar bone / small joints / Can find it difficult to put on weight/muscle. Benefit from less cardio and more compound lifting in the heavier rep range.
Mesomorph - smaller/proportionally sized, wider collarbone / smaller waist / finds it easy to pack on muscle. Benefit from moderate amounts of cardio and compound lifting in moderate - heavy rep ranges.
Endomorph - softer and fuller in appearance/ can look stocky/ hips wider than collar cone/ thicker joints / may find they store fat more easily and be sensitive to carbohydrates. Tend to benefit more from HIIT training and moderate - higher rep range weight work and lower carb days when not training.
These are at their most basic explanations and most people cross over between 2 of them. For example, I am predominantly a mesomorph with a "little" bit of ectomorph because although I am not tall, I have small joints and narrow hips.
Point to this:
Kate Moss /Thandie Newton / Taylor Swift / Mo Farrah - all ectomorphs
Beyoncé / shakira / JLo / Russel Crowe - all endomorphs
Madonna / Serena Williams / Halle Berry / Paige Hathaway / Arnie - all mesomorphs
Beyoncé is never going to look like Kate Moss, nor is Thandie Newton ever going to look like Paige Hathaway or Beyoncé because... it's just not their body type. Same as Arnie could never be as thin as Mo Farrah...
What they do, is learn to focus on their own body type and make it as best they can by working with it, instead of fighting against it for the unattainable.
