5 Ways To Find a Personal Trainer Worth Your Cash

The fitness industry today is changing, more and more people are becoming involved. More people want to be fit and healthy- and whilst this is fantastic news, it's not without its downfalls. This means there are more Personal Trainers than ever, more "Fit Pros" than ever.... and more people that aren't qualified in what they do, or worse, thinking they are qualified from a weekend course and a bit of paper, offering to sell you some amazing services for a few hundred quid.

Trouble is, that's YOUR few hundred quid, that you've worked HARD for, and spent on in good faith, because let's face it, when you seek out a trainer, you seek out someone you can build a bond with, a confidante and mentor, more importantly someone you trust - you don't want that trust to be broken.

Here are 5 ways to spot a good trainer worth your investment:

1) Word of Mouth

A good trainer understands the value of testimonials and word of mouth referrals.

They understand that their reputation amongst existing and new clients is everything. Rest assured a good trainer will have nothing but good feedback and come recommended by others.

2) They don't make it all about them

A good trainer wants to help you change your life for the better. They do the job because it's in their hearts and minds - helping people be the best they can be is the best job satisfaction they can achieve.

A trainer that doesn't have your best interests at heart and is only interested in your money, will make their selling points all about how good and special THEY are and less about YOU.

3) They usually have their own health story or journey that they draw upon from experience

Whether this be losing post pregnancy baby weight, a big successful weight loss journey, competing in body building, or recovering from a chronic illness to wellness...

They can help because on some level, they've been there and understand the journey - warts n all, that you are about to take.

4) They charge their worth

Sure everyone loves a bargain. But when it comes to picking a Personal Trainer, someone you hire to make not only physical, but positive emotional changes to YOUR body and health, you need to remember that a lot of research, knowledge, studying, practical application, re-evaluating and time spent learning over and above their paper qualification sits behind that.

A trainer charging stupidly low fees and giving all for nothing, is likely to not be giving you the first class service you so rightly deserve. A trainer that values their worth, puts a price to that and for good reason - you get what you pay for.

5) They LISTEN

Your trainer should listen to you, if you have an injury or a weakness, or you turn up to the session under the weather or tired, a good trainer will work WITH you to still achieve a good result for you,

If a trainer is just beasting you for an hour and making you feel worse, or making you do exercises that are detrimental to your injury, then your best interests might not necessarily be in their heart.

On the other hand if you turn up full of beans wanting a good kicking and you come away with less than you wanted, the same principle applies.

Use this advice when you are searching out a Personal Trainer and you will hopefully develop a great relationship that helps you get to get results. Love, light and burpees! Ascension PT 💜💚
