When you pay for a personal trainer, we become your confidante, your coach, your teacher and mentor... We give you guidelines on how to eat right, train right, look after yourself, advice on calorie intake, posture, exercises, fat loss, wellbeing, understanding the body's response to the wrong foods, we listen to everything...
We push you to your max and we ease up when you're not on top form....
We try every single skill and trick and technique we know, to help you break the cycle that you hired us for in the first place...
It works, and for a few weeks/months you start to lose a bit of weight, then it stops, and come weigh in / measurement time, you get disheartened and think that it's not working and then get fed up thinking "I'm never gonna lose this weight"
But see, if every week you replace the bad biscuits with ice cream and eat out or drink wine every night, or only do 1, or none of the workouts we expect you to do instead of the 3 or 4, then the reason it's not working is because you get out what you put in... i.e. A half arsed effort, and the only person you sabotage - is yourself.
Losing weight (fat) is bloody hard work... it requires effort, sweat, dedication, drive, resilience, picking yourself up when you don't feel like it, sore muscles, red faces and a REAL effort to behave in the kitchen so that a cheat meal doesn't become a cheat week...
Anyone that thinks it's going to be easy and a personal trainer can just do the work for them, is very mistaken...
We are there to mentor and push yes, and we do, but we aren't there to do it FOR you.
YOU have to have the right attitude to WANT to change and be better.... YOU need to love yourself enough to do it.
